The passionate artist Loreen Hinz is primary known for the feature to produce a piece of art of her models. She fascinates, surprises, amazes and captures our attention in a very distinctive way. The largest contribution to her stylistic development probably had the French photographer Sarah Moon, well-known for her countless campaign pictures among others for Chacharel, Comme des Garcons and a short film for Dior Homme. ''Her photographs relieved me mentally from the constraints of the "perfect", deep focussed photography,'' says the 27-year-old photographer, ''At the beginning of my work I became evermore blurred and at the end I dissolved my models completely until I come upon the photographic freedom that characterizes my work today.'' Similar to Sarah Moon her artistic work is characterized by painterly images in which Loreen Hinz dissolves her objects, and thus gives them a touch of mysticism. In this blurring can be found a certain distance, but also a welcoming mood that seems to keep a secret and thus provides access to an incredibly intense intimacy. ''After the shooting I only choose the photos that affect myself, that trigger a feeling, a enthusiasm in me... Furthermore, beautiful people fascinate me, with the help of photography thus I can keep a piece of beauty for me and always enjoy it.'' Loreen Hinz therefore prioritizes a strong expression much more than the technique by the image taking and edits only the bare necessaries and creates no images or effects with the help of photoshop. ''In the course of my photographic work honesty becomes evermore important to me, for this reason I would like to go back to my analogue roots and shoot more analogue again.'' There arises the question how far reality and art should be distinguished from each other based on the technical possibilitys we have today. Lately, the pictured content can mostly be attributed to a real subject so that Loreen Hinz sees at least not a concrete, fixed limit between reality and photography. ''The purpose of art consists of making something special from reality,to filter the small piece of magic in the everyday. A pretty girl with nice clothes is reality, the photography with its possibility has the chance to make art of it.'' explains Loreen Hinz, ''This may sound ingénue-like but I like the imagination that there is much more between camera lens and subject.''

"Istanbul is like a handbag," contrasts and contradictions harmonize here for hundreds of years and make the pulsating city special. The only metropolis that is located on two continents, is tradition and innovation, love and hate, East and West but especially the day before yesterday and the day after tomorrow.

''Nerelisin hemsehrim?'', In Turkey, this question is certainly much more often asked than the name. In Turkish culture, it is typical to demand from which city one originally comes from, yet it is not atypical to be asked for the second time if one is prompted to say that he is from Istanbul. Even if one is born in Istanbul and also when the family lives there for generations.

One wonders very often who the real citizen of Istanbul probably is. Does he even still exists? Who is the real one from Istanbul who lives in a city whose foundations are already have been placed in the 7th Century BC? The collection seeks an answer to the highly controversial issue and for this we walk purposefully through the special quarters of Istanbul.

Each outfit has been inspired of one quarter of Istanbul and also reflects its character and people.

The photography of Elena Maschke is free of any classifications, it seems as though she could master every style perfectly. One picture is possibly like out of a fairyland, the other image taking appears wild and destructive, romantic and elegant or even playful and freaky. The variability of each photograph by Elena Maschke and the endless facets of it as a whole is always good for surprises and this is exactly the way that brings her work alive and makes it very exciting. Elena Maschke's father brought photography for the first time to her attention by taking her as a child on his travels along and by showing her his seeing of beauty of a picture through the viewfinder. ''At that time he had his own dark room and developed truly great nature photographs that I still love today '', Elena Maschke remembers. At teenaged thus followed her first portraits by taking photographs of all her friends and developed to a professional photographer as time drew on. ''In photography there is no exact specification'', says Elena, ''you can just let go and realize your ideas.'' These ideas come from magazines and the television as well as from the interesting colour combination of a location that Elena Maschke notices during her trip to work and at the end of the day, she connects this dots. ''I'm satisfied with the series when I felt well at the shoot and when I had a pleasant cooperation with the model and the team, so that I can't hold out to edit the images until I'm home. These images are usually the bests because you can see my happiness in them.'' Like every great artist Elena Maschke also dreams of a place in the leading fashion magazines of the world like Vogue and Tush. ''Fashion is as classic as photography and I love that.''

I'm a great fan of Picasso's art work so when I heard about the art exhibition in my city that thematized ''Picasso in 1905 in Paris'' I went directly with one of my friends there. Of course, there were a lot of interesting paintings as expected but there was one special painting we had chosen as our favourite one because it really aroused our attention. The painting is called ''Jeune Femme En Chemise.'' There is such a mysterious touch about this girl that seems very melancholic and thoughtful. I just love the cold blue shades and the destructive distance of it as a whole!

When Alexandra's parents thrust on her 16th birthday a reflex camera into her hand, she didn't know exactly what to do with it. It seemed far too large and impractical to her at first sight, especially in relation to her Olympus digital camera with which she initially snapped self-portraits. Thus, she looked up full of amazement to her parents in the electronics store when they asked her before the showcase "Well, whic one would you like to have? This one, or maybe that?" and soon Alexandra made her first positive experience with the new camera when she first photographed one of her friends. ''The photos had because of the Canon EOS 5D such an fascinating quality that my friend had told everyone how good I would take pictures and one day I photographed all my friends through until I got my first inquiry.'' Alexandra remembers.

She was also impressed by the room for interpretation and the wide variety and range, that photography could enable its beholder. ''The photography is like a man with many corners and edges, which anyone can interpret differently.'' she says. But the most important and faszinating thing on photography is the fact that a someone can explore its multifaceted personality and perceive himself completely different. ''The fact that a person with more weight also can look great in front of the camera or even someone who has a serious illness can charm a super-radiance on my photo and people with certain problem areas can show themselves and don't need to be ashamed of it!'' Alexandra is absolutely convinced ''Every man deserves to be shown at his best!'' And they surely will in front Alexandra's lens. With a mixture of her well-marked sense of humor and professionalism Alexandra knows exactly how to bring out the best in everyone and thus achieves in a few minutes surprising good images.

Not only an unrestrained posing contributes for a good result, also the function of fashion is for Alexandra among others a communication of passion, sex and naturalness. ''It depends on what the model is wearing. If the the model wears a summer dress with flowers, the viewer feels a certain sense of summer but prefers the model a miniskirt with a low-cut top, she emits some sexuality.'' The type specific styling of the models and the combination of different garments and accessories isn't even the slightest problem for Alexandra, she thinks the challenge of a photographer is much more to ''present a person or an object from a point of view that no one has ever seen before!'' At an early age of sixteen, Alexandra gained her first experience and became already at age nineteen a professional photographer who is now pursuing her dream to work with the greatest fashion labels and magazines as well as with international supermodels.

This summer season Burberry celebrates its new look: vigorous, wild and totally in love with studs. The illustrious trenchcoat of Burberry was traditionally made by order of the British military administration and is now added better than ever before with the fierce Biker-Look completed with bright neon-accessories. Spikes and rivets covers the sleeves of the jackets, the cream coloured with gold and the black with silver studs. Phyton and leopard printed dresses/shirts combined with metallic jackets and leggings and belts with an emphasis at the waist are multiple presented on the runway with Mario Testino, Alexa Chung and Rachel Bilson on the front row. Always being others one step ahead is a challenge for many fashion designers but for Alexandra Maria Frimmer it's a self-evidence.

Since she founded her label ''Marifina'' in the year 2009, she's not only living her passion to the fullest, she also enables women with her fashion the refuge into another world - a world where fantasy knows no limits; a world where futurism and nature melt together and form a completely new interpretation of individuality.

The inspiration of Marifina is based in the mere existence of nature, sometimes deeply rooted below the earth and sometimes high up in the sky. All in one, it's a fascinating journey of discovery that enables her insights and impressions into the beauty. Indeed it is, the world is full of beauty, people only need to notice this and Alexandra Maria Frimmer has this capability undoubtedly: „...the shimmering feathering of a bird, the rough bark of a tree, the intricate structure of a delicate flower or the unique shape of a stone. But also the handwriting, coloring and styling of an art work serve me as a source of inspiration for my work.”, the couturière says and underlines her strong affection to nature that is expressed in her artistic work: „On the one hand nature is for me an endless source of shapes, colors and textures; and on the other hand it is the necessary contrast for me to the pulsating life in the fashion capitals of the world.”

Each year Marifina presents two masterfully decorated collections for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter whose incisions are carefully made by construction paper to cut and draping of the brush cutter. „This process is for me always a search and exploring of harmonious proportions and tension-filled silhouettes. Then I manufacture the unique pieces handcrafted from matching fabrics.” No matter wheter she combines brilliant satin, soft velvet or beguiling metallic, the presence of Marifina never loses it's orginality. „I experiment a lot with different materials, edit the surface, work out structures and thus produce my own fabric creations. I often combine different fabrics with the same colour and play with the various structures and the texture of the surfaces, because light refracts on the movements of the surfaces depending on the transparency, gloss and fiber fineness of the starting tissue copmpletely different.” she explains. During such a complex production and realization of constantly new ideas an artist is as a rule daily confronted with new obstacles and complications. In this way, it's quite advantageous to be all set for everything. „I try to limit the risk of potential problem situations, largely, by agents prior to use and most items of clothing from a nearby first sample material.” The secret of her success lies highly likely at this sophisticated work process, but surely also of the great recognition value of her designs which is largely a luxury in todays constantly growing fashion industry dominated by mass productions. Daily, ordinary and fading fashion encounters us, everyday new constructed and copied but true visualitation of the soul that states something as like the fashion of Marifina, a indispensable piece of infinity for its ideal customer: „A woman who - regardless of age or nationality won't plunge into the crowd and estimates individuality, flamboyance, and quality.”

Colourful, fancy, bold and extremely L O U D !

While the usual knitting sweater was giving us in all his naturalness and softness Michael Kippelt provides this brand-new character traits... Character traits full of dynamic and dominance, but also a certain joy of life seems to be behind these playful creations.
The young fashion designer combines knitwear very cool and casual with the blue jeans and dotted or striped shirts.
Computer games and movies had been his inspirational source for this collection that might also explain the three-dimensional effect in his sewing technique and also the fusion of architecture and fashion had been of a great importance for his work:
„I was inspired by the tiles of the elephant house in Hamm and the structural shift from industry to culture in the rest area.”
This isn't a quite unknown topic for me and surely not for each of you because the elephant house made it as the greatest building of an animal shape with 40 metres to the Guinness Book of Records. If you take a look at the first and second photograph you'll also discover similarities between the trunk of an elephant and the added accessory-pieces around the jeans.
As a young fashion designer the dream of Michael Kippelt is quite comprehensible:
„I want to start my own label!”
And he really deals with this dream pretty self-confident compared with many other young fashion designers who are in the main scared of taking a step forward but I'm convinced that fashion-lovers would welcome him because this artificial fashion isn't only eye-catching... it also makes people smile!

A Closer Look Behind The Ideal - What Is ''Beautiful''?

A successful collection is in my opinion not only characterized by what we see and perceive, also the idea behind it is of a great importance. As like in the conceptual work of Katharina Schöne which deals thematically with fashion but is expressed in a video performance and objects. The brief conversation with her has developed into a flashback to the 90's when Calvin Klein created in his campaign with Kate Moss the new look, a new perspective of beauty and a new definition of perfection so strong that it's still alive. Slim in, muscles out - The Heroin Chic was born. This obsession with beauty was taken up by Katherina Schöne in her work. „Women change for fashion, fashion does not adapt to the women.” This was the most notable input during the talking, because at this point you want to look behind things, behind an idea and then you realize actually it was supposed to be the other way, fashion should serve women, but in fact it's not. „It's about the idealization that is constructed by the media.” Katharina Schöne continues, „A fat woman is frowned upon by society, although the average size of women in Germany is by 42.” Women starve themselves to death, break their legs and continue to fight in the most cruel way for a place in the fashion industry. But when will this idealization have an ending, will it ever have at some point? „We grew up with the idea that only a slim body is beautiful, therefore it's difficult to break off it.” says the designer. „Of course there will always be small changes in the body image as time drew on but a revolution like that won't take place any more.” Although it is too late now for a radical change in the idealization, there is still hope to be clear about that after all the body image which we all emulate is just a social construction. Always criticize your own thoughts and try to answer thereby the question of the young designer: „Why is something beautiful and where does this idea come about that?” I have already asked myself. The answer will surely be surprising for each of you.

While other fashion designers would bore us the pants off with their monotony I could never get enough of Elie Saab's fashion shows. Like every season, he presented a new interpretation of glory and perfection shrouded in chiffon-, tulle- and organza masses that surrounds women a touch of sanctity and mystery at the same time. The models always look that fine and that soft in his gowns I even get by my mere sight scared of hurting them...

The show was arranged according to the colour of the creations. At first, the models with the cream dresses entered the catwalk then soft lavender, red, green and white/silver followed and finally as already expected the show was completed with a breathtaking wedding dress.

As typical for his work Elie Saab combined masterful embroideries, glitter and drapery at its best where he always demonstrates his inimitable ability for craftsmanship. The application of lace is very thoughtful, it runs fluently around the body. Eye-catching is also that he always underlined the female silhouette... By every dress he was focused on emphazising the waist and that's exactly why I love Elie Saab that much... He always knows exactly what constitutes the feminine beauty.

My absolutely favourite pieces of this collection are the pale-green floral gown from the second collage (left) and the black glitter corsage dress with an extremely cut from the last collage (left below). Some of you might think green would be unfavorable for the usage at night but I think this colour is that unique at night that it's therefore a fortiori exciting.

This spring apparently comes with Elie Saab's flowers that bloom on the schoulder and grow further along the skirt.

Today was the last day of the exhibition of the fashion school in my town that has started in January 28th. This is the second time that I'm writing for the students in Bielefeld and it is always that exciting and a lot of fun to discover new talents that had been created here, in the town where I grew up. As you already know I am always looking for the best collections so this is just a little foretaste because in the coming weeks I will post three interviews including the best designer presentations.

Au Revoir, Carine Roitfeld - Bienvenue, Emmanuelle Alt!

Now it's official: Emmanuelle Alt will be the follower of Carine Roitfeld as the chief editor of the world's most popular fashion magazine Vogue Paris. As the German newspaper ''Kurier'' reports, she will appear in the imprint as the official chief editor from the issue in April 2011 on. Xavier Romatet, the chairman of Condé Nast France justified this decision as follows:
„Emma is very professional, and that is a quality you need in Vogue Paris, as one of the world's leading fashion magazines. We need the passion of the most creative and best united in the areas of fashion and beauty, the best photographers and stylists, and Emma knows them all good.”
And how couldn't she? - Emmanuelle Alt worked for a whole series of fashion magazines started at the french ELLE and made it to the chief editor of two french women's magazines ''20 ans'' and ''Mixte'' which she left in 1998 and finally became the fashion director of Vogue Paris which she joined in the year 2000. It's fair to say that she fulfils the qualifications as the leading fashion editor in abundance and she is in known of it:
„It is a great honor and a pleasure to me to be the new head of Vogue Paris, which I know very well. I work with many talented teams and I will develop the incredible potential of the Parisian Vogue further.”
Well, we will see the result in the coming April issue!

The sytle of Emmanuelle Alt is a mix between Rock Chic and Classiness, she loves the combination of waisted blazers preferable by the french couture house Balmain with skintight drainpipe jeans. Her leather statement-pieces at best in black, are indispensable for her casual style. Her natural appearance with sleek hair and decent made-up harmonizes perfectly as a contrast of her strong look.

Little girls in the age of six well-groomed, made up and dressed with designer clothes are posing for the December 2010/January 2011 issue of Vogue Paris edited by Tom Ford, trying to be sexy for the greatest fashion magazine of the world.

After Carine Roitfeld left the french Vogue, people were wondering and speculating on the style of the coming issue and now this fashion shoot is on everyone's lips - The shoot that caused a great furore around the whole world and surely not without good reason...

Nobody can tell me that a child in the age of six knows without the influence of her parents that she wants to be a model. I wished parents could see what they are doing to their children and if not they can face it now because it's a shame enough to see their girls in thousands of blogs and sites criticizing paedophilia on the picture of their girls. If you want to call this art, just take a look around you and you will realize what happened to the next generations. We just discover groups of kids walking painted and overdressed around the city. While we were playing in their age with Barbie dolls today they are more interested in fashion and boys. There must be something wrong, they are growing up just too fast and advertising like that makes them want to do this even more. In my opinion, it was a great mistake of the french Vogue and very reckless to allow Tom Ford the editorial on a fashion shoot with children who is famous for an advertising style like this:

They just couldn't pass him the baton. Of course, we are in known of his provocative preferences but this definitely goes to far! Thank God that Terry Richardson didn't photographed this girls because if this would be the case, I'm sure the shoot would had an even more enourmous touch of sexuality. Especially Vogue Paris has, as I already mentioned at the beginning, as the greatest fashion magazine of the world the most responsibility to save the reputation of fashion, but they failed!

Children as young as five are now going on diets, are worried about how they look, how they present—this just should not be an issue for children. During the fashion week in Paris Chanel presented in my taste the creme de la creme of the Haute Couture fall/winter collections. Natasha Poly opened the show at the Grand Palais in a fiery red costume and her colleagues among others Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Anja Rubik followed her with other ingenious works of art from the parisian couture house. I was really surprised and amazed at the same time about the diverse colours (that is really unusual for the style of Chanel) and everything else the heart desires - glance and glitter, embroideries and chiffon, transparent and printed fabrics. Karl Lagerfeld mastered it again to be faithful to the conception of Coco Chanel: ''Less is more'' - but with an magnificent touch of modernity. Coco Mademoiselle would be proud if she could see this!

The Turkish VOGUE

For the August issue 2010 they got Miss Beckham herself on the cover - a mother of three beautiful children, the wife of football player David Beckham, pop star and above all today's most influencing style icon! Lately with her dVb collection she proved a marvellous taste of elegance and a sure feeling for quality.
During my holiday in Turkey I saw this stunning VOGUE cover on the shelf in a shopping mall:
Mrs. Beckham classy in black and white in a short black flapper dress with silver killer Louboutins on her feet looks gimlet eyed into the camera - a sight with an enormous self-confidence. The statement in the middle of the cover shouts full of pride:
''A cheer for the Turkish fashion!''
During the interview Miss Beckham is talking about fashion, glamour and her life as a mother.
„I am quite aware of that I'm selling an image but I can't say that I give it everything to protect this.” she begins...
„I don't try to present myself as someone I'm not.”
Consequently, the talk about her development in the fashion world begins.
„Already in my time at the Spice Girls people were interested in my fashion because fashion has always been a passion for me. I become famous as a popstar and married a football player - David Beckham. Lately people accepted my being in the fashion world becuase this is real, this is true.”
„This is real, this is true...” Mrs. Beckham speaks about her collection like it's a part of her family, like a fourth child.
„Fashion is something I always had to do with. I'm learning by doing and I do the work I like as I want - thats all.”
During the shooting she was wearing creations of the most famous Turkish designers styled by Ece Sükan like Yıldırım Mayruk and she already wore Turkish designers like one breathtaking cration by Hussein Chalayan - a futuristic corsage dress on the cover of the US ELLE for the October issue in 2009.
„I'm so exsiting that I'm wearing creations with the signature of Turkish designers.” she says...
„Yesterday at the rehearsal I had the chance to analyze the dresses. Many of these Turkish designers have a very dominant avant-garde style. Furthermore I think that this style of the dresses will harmonise very well with the photography art of Ellen.”
Ellen von Unwerth is a star photographer who become famous by working on a campaign for the jeans-label Guess that was first published in the french ELLE.
„I was photographed by Ellen the first time with the Spice Girls. Since then she's one of my favourite photographers.”
For the shooting Victorias hair was extended with hair extensions.
After it was said that this wanton curls look well on her she replied that quite humorous:
„Don't think I will use this magical pills to get my hair longer. I heard that this pills kill libido. Just because my hair will grow up overnight I wouldn't destroy my sex life.”
She also informed us about her beautiful life with her family and friends in USA.
„I think if you got life ambition USA is the perfect place to live, because it's open-minded for every kind of a first. My children are attending a great school, we got a lot of friends and we love to visit Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes - perfect people. About LA someone expects that peoples are artificial and superficial - in my opinion this isn't true. It depends on your life style. Here, there are living more famous families than somewhere else - I like it to be a small fish of a big pool in LA.”
There are and there always will be shocking snapshots and reports about the style icon but she is already a real perfectionist by controlling and ignoring the bad side of the press...
„It doesn't interest me what the paparazzi writes under my photographs. You know what is interesting me ... If they photographed me from the right angle.”
Finally she mentioned her relationship to David and their secret of a successful marriage.
„David is a very romantic and generous man. After our children Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz were born he's still successfully at planning times for us together - a perfect organiser. It's important that he can do this because after the birth of the children everything revolves around them and it could be forgotten that we were lovers.”
And last an advice from Mrs. Beckham to all lovers around the whole world:
„If lovers want to protect the romance between them they have to throw themselves into it and do something just for themselves.”

Japanese Streets

The japanese street art influenced the international catwalks and inspired the designers of Prada,Hermès and Lanvin who presented elements of the japanese traditional culture fashion in their shows. So I decided to carry out an investigation about the japanese fashion. For the needed informations I contacted and interviewed Lia - a special australian fashion designer from Japan.

When you walk over the street in Tokyo... How does it feels as a fashion designer? Which looks can always be observed? - How is especially the youth dressed?

„I don't think the streets of Tokyo will ever feel relaxing - it's all hustle and bustle. Of course it does depend on which area of Tokyo you're walking about - generally the area where I'm based it's the hub of the city - so there's always a sea of people wandering about. Perhaps I've been living here too long - but lately the fashion of the masses doesn't grab my attention as much as it used too - unless the individual is dressed so strikingly and different. The fashion of the youth is still very colourful, very genre and trend-based. For example there are the groups that dress specifically like the 'lolitas' - be it gothic or princess; the girls that dress more of the 'princess-kawaii' style (where almost everything they wear is pink and lacey); the boys that dress like the sex pistols, or the off-beat artist style. It is extremely trend-based; this season girls are seen wearing the 'private school girl hat' which is normally made of straw, is a bit of a flat-top and always has a strip of ribbon above the brim, and the newest trend I've seen appears to be wearing a wide ribbon in your hair and creating a bow that looks like 'bunny ears' at the top... it's everywhere!! It's the newest cute accessory.”

Recently, I read an article in a german fashion magazine about Japanese/Chinese woman that says they imitate paragons from the west and thusly defend themselves from ultraviolet rays and use whitening products. In how far is that a fact?

„I wouldn't say perse that they are imitating paragons from the west, considering a lot of western culture enjoys being in the sun and tanning (I can attest to that having been born in Australia - I love the summer and sunshine) It's more I would say because of the tradition and history Asians hold to individuals pertaining white skin - because in the past, possessing white, clear skin showcased that the family belonged to a higher status, perhaps nobility, royalty etc. Tanned skin indicated one came from a peasant background. I've heard this many a time from my mother and my relatives. Definitely here in Japan, they protect their skin to the tenth degree in summer, often wearing jeans, wearing long elbow length gloves, visors, holding parasols and using 'whitening' cosmetics - I often get stares because I don't cover up in summer like most of the Japanese. Winter will actually see girls wearing the shortest of skirts, and thigh high socks ( think provocative school girl) because they'd rather show skin then.”

I always see pictures of japanese street fashion on the web that is bright and colourful. I think we could also use the word 'bold'. Is that really the ordinary street look in Japan?

„Japanese mass street fashion is indeed colourful and bright, there's always some eye-popping colour in view, normally whatever the shops have said is the colour of the season; the look has become much more mainstream though - it's not as crazy as it used to be. Pretty much, looks are copied from magazines or whatever is deemed the 'look' of the season. Sometimes I miss the fashion of home because people would combine high designer, with vintage, with homemade totally twisting it to their personality - where as lately I've found here, it's very much what s in the magazine is copied.”

Does this style always existed in the streets or developed it in the last years so far with features like the colourful hairs?

„It's developed in the last years, developed in a way that's a bit more quiet and mainstream - the craziness of Harajuku has died away, the cosplay is not as rampant as it used to be.”

Who do you think is today's most influencing artist or designer in Japan?

„That I'm not sure of - as I still look towards Western styles as I feel they are much more confident in expressing the confidence of the body and it's also the confidence that I grew up with. You'll find here in Japan, legs are always shown (sometimes a bit too much, considering the amount of panty shots that can happen because the skirts are so short) however the upper torso is rarely displayed. When garments are relatively low cut - a singlet or t-shirt is always worn underneath ( I kind of detest that look). Mass fashion however is definitely going crazy here, with H&M and Forever 21 joining Zara. Stores are opening up everywhere.”

You're a fashion designer living in Japan. What do you think people want to wear? What does today's japanese youth want to look or be dressed like?

„I think people want to wear items that enhance their personality and are an outward expression of themselves. Though I live here in Japan designing garments from vintage kimonos, my style is still very much Western in how I dress and that is expressed in the clothing I create. It actually goes back to I think that women brought up in a western society are much more confident and independent in their views and fashion rather than their Asian counterparts; which in a lot of Asian cultures women are still in the more servitude, secondary position to men. Today's youth in Japan is gravitating towards emulating Western fashion and what popular Japanese idols wear - there are the occasional individual who dress so artisticly and creatively compared to the masses. however lately I rarely see that.”

No, this is not about a new model of the legendary handbag from the parisian couture house Chanel, but it is not irrelevant at all. If you take a look at the handhold of this classic bag you will surely discover a resemblance at the structure with Diana's creations. That's why she named her label after 2.55. 2.55 by DQ was founded purely by chance when Diana discovered a shop in Berlin with a vast number of pieces for jewellery and remarked this beautiful material of gold. For the moment she just created them for herself and her clique and now she is producing chains and bracelets for a whole generation of fashion-addicts. Articulated material with bounded satin developes to a new trend in the teen scene. But what does this really triggers? When I saw this combination at the first time I thought about the unification of contrasts - two completely different materials fuse together and come out as a whole and we marvel at this astonishing and inspiring result. Quite sure that this label will accompany us in the years to come!

Sara Tobergte - Line Of Vision

In a brief interview with the young designer Sara Tobergte, I had the opportunity to explore the creation of her designs. The young designer was excellent with the price for the most artistic work at the fashion show and is therefore the John Galliano among the students. The materials used for the collection consist largely leather, silk organza and bamboo. Combined, they result in the overall a contrast, in which one thinks, a certain challenge to discover. As a source of inspiration, she speaks of 'visions' in itself and the hippie movement.
„It's all about visions. Everyone who wants can wear my fashion. “
The preparation of draft is simple and original at the same time.
„I have a piece of fabric, cut him up and sew him back together.“
One of her many methods to design and pick up ideas. The Aura of the collection is very unique.
„I don't really have big idols. I like Viktor & Rolf. I have also done an internship there. I also like Balenciaga, Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela and Bernhard Willhelm ... “
When I asked her how she would define the style of the collection, she answers that quite convinced:
„modern!“
Then she adds:
„straight, being different.“
Being different - to exclude?
„No, not really to exclude“,
says the beautiful blonde.
